In contrast, ColoAlert® can significantly increase the detection rate in the critical early stages of colorectal cancer. This new screening test is currently the most sensitive alternative that meets the recommended minimum specificity of 90 %,offering a more accurate early detection than FIT while being a more comfortable alternative to
the current colonoscopy. However, like all non-invasive tests, ColoAlert®
cannot fully replace the colonoscopy. Instead,it should be regarded as an alternative for
those not willing to undergo an invasive procedure without a cause. In the case of a
positive ColoAlert® test result, please discuss with your GP for further courses of actions and management plans. In case of a negative ColoAlert® result it is recommended to
repeat the test every 3 years.
